Founded in 1216 by Cistercian monks, the Abbaye Notre-Dame du Val-Dieu is a haven of peace in the heart of the Pays de Herve. It stands at the centre of the triangle formed by Liège, Maastricht and Aachen, surrounded by nature. Since the departure of the last three monks in 2001, the Abbaye du Val-Dieu has experienced a renewal led by the Christian Community of Val-Dieu.
